Featherstone & Freeman Medico-Legal Consultancy
The company was formed in 2002 by two doctors who had subsequently qualified as lawyers. We have dealt with a number of cases since this time covering all areas of clinical negligence, including dental, pharmaceutical and nursing problems. Due to professional bias we are keen to see that bad practice does not go unreported, but we have no interest in pursuing claims that have no merit. We have also recently begun to deal with more simple personal injury cases, and details of this practice are available on our website www.freeclaimsadvice.com.
Director - Roderick Freeman
I began my career studying medicine at Leeds University in the late eighties and early nineties. Back then the academic aspect of the course was far more rigorous, but I was struck by the lack of ability of some of my peers. I have continued to be under whelmed by general standards in medicine. Whilst the top end remains extremely able it is not uncommon to come across incompetent general practitioners, hospital doctors and nurses. I think the statistics on medical accidents support this unequivocally.
For this reason I began a law course and studied clinical negligence with Malcolm Kahn in Newcastle. I was called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2000. As a barrister I have dealt with a number of different solicitors since this time. I feel that this experience is invaluable in recommending a suitable solicitor, when you decide to sue the NHS or a private healthcare provider.
I still enjoy vigorous sporting pursuits be it in the gym, water or mountains, and can particularly empathise with the need to treat sporting injuries properly. I am also married with two young children.
