Delay Cancer

Professor Mike Richards, National Cancer Director for England, said that late diagnosis of cancer cases was one of the main reasons for Britain having one of the poorest cancer survival rates in Europe. Although death rates were falling over 150,000 lives were lost each year.

On average, Professor Richards said, GPs have about 8 new patients with cancer each year but hundreds of patients had symptoms similar to cancer.
